Wensum River Installations :

Pull of the Current 2010
Outdoor installation at Wensum Park Bridge in Norwich. The work consisted of three lengths of red rope weighted by various sized branches. The work made visible the pull of the current in the river.

Water Pendulum 2010
This delicate water pendulum was installed on the Wensum River in Norwich. It was constructed to gently sway with the movements of the water underneath. Hung from a tree and weighted by found natural materials the work acts as a subtle intervention in a natural landscape.

Natural Tensions Exhibition :

Norwich University College of the Arts

Student Gallery

28th February - 4th March 2011
Exhibition Poster:

Natural Tensions was a solo exhibition held on the Painting Landing of the Student Gallery at Norwich University of the Arts. It featured works and experimentations all based around responses and installations on the Happisburgh coastline. The show worked as a basis for me to test components for my degree show in June 2011.
The exhibition was split into two halves, with the first half of the week showcasing one body of work, and the second half displaying experiments with curating these ideas in different ways. This allowed me to utilise the time efficiently, to get the most out of removing the work from my studio space into a new location.
The first half of the week was used showcasing compositions of photographs from Happisburgh, being connected by metal wires across the space, continuing the forms from the photographs into the gallery. This was complimented by a steel sculpture of a topography, and wall collages of studio fragments. During the second half of the week, I adjust this by removing the photographs from the wire constructs, and experimented with more stripped back compositions. As well as this I experimented with materials which were used in the photographs such as the blue rope and made compositions using this.
